November is a month of giving thanks! And here at the NCFDD, we're incredibly thankful for the exponential growth we are experiencing! We've just broken through a new membership record: 71,000 members! When we were getting started four years ago, I knew that many faculty members were not getting the mentoring they needed. But I never imagined how many people were seeking a fundamentally different type of mentoring experience and how many administrators were interested in experimenting with new ways to effectively mentor faculty. We're honored and delighted by the response of our Individual Members, our Institutional Members, and the success of our Faculty Success Program.
This month, we have lots of exciting mentoring opportunities for you. November's core training workshop is How to Manage Stress and Rejection. We have a special guest expert panel this month where Dwayne A. Mack, Elwood Watson and Michelle Madsen Camacho will discuss their new book Beginning A Career in Academia. We are kicking off registration for our next session of the Faculty Success Program (January - May, 2015) with a preview webinar: 5 Secrets to A Super Productive Semester. And finally, this month's feature article in our newsletter is all about our experimenting with daily writing by describing our 14-Day Writing Challenge.
Thanks for all of your continued support and please share our newsletter with anyone you know who may need foundational support or would enjoy learning about new styles of mentoring.
