This is it -- the train is leaving the station!

Registration for the NCFDD's Faculty Success Program summer session ENDS this Friday. As we head toward the registration deadline, consider this a gentle nudge for those of you who:

  • Know you want to join the program but can't quite commit to anything until the last minute
  • Wanted to explore all of your options for writing support and accountability beforeregistering
  • Told me you intend to register, but then forgot to go our site and push the button

Every time we've offered this program, the last people to register have some of the biggest transformations. I don't know why that's the case. It could be because they took their time in deciding to make the commitment, so once they finally made it, they were all in. It could be because they had to hustle around their institution to find the professional development funds to participate and in so doing became highly motivated to make the most of the program (for themselves and their institutional sponsors). Or it could be that it took until the last minute to overcome their inner-critic's protests and in doing so, they started off in a powerful way! Whatever the case may be, let me encourage you to pause for a minute to ask yourself: Do you want to join a community that will transform this summer session into your most productive summer ever?

If so, it's time to register. If not, no problem (but feel free to share this with anyone who may need it).

And if you want to read about the long term impact of the Faculty Success Program, see Katy's story below. It's a better description of the program than anything I can tell you.

I'm wishing each of you a peaceful and productive week!

What Faculty Are Saying About the Faculty Success Program

"This fall, my department chair decided to put me up for tenure early! It's something I'd NEVER have expected. In fact, after my first annual review, at the end of my first year, I was seriously debating whether to quit my job.

I decided at that point to give it my best for a year, to do the Faculty Success Program, and to do work I thought was important. At the end of that year, my research was covered in an article in the New York Times. I've just recently received word that my tenure vote was very supportive.  Wow.

I want to say thank you, Kerry Ann... I so appreciate what you do and what your work and your community have contributed toward my development as a scholar."
