July is our "birthday” month here at the NCFDD and we’re jumping for joy! We opened our doors in July 2010 and this month we are celebrating the completion of our fifth year as a fully independent faculty development center. We are so honored to provide our unique form of mentoring and professional development to over 72,000 graduate students, post-docs and faculty members at more than 450 colleges and universities in the U.S.
Our tradition is to celebrate our birthday by GIVING!
Our Community Partners in Uganda
To that end, I just returned from Uganda where I was visiting with our community partners (The Just Like My Child Foundation). Seeing the projects we've invested in and learning about the positive outcomes was an energizing experience (you can probably tell from the picture!). There's something special about being in a supportive community working for collective change that is deeply inspiring.
And in the spirit of giving, we've got a great gift for you as well: a free 14-Day Writing Challenge starting on July 13th. If you need a boost in your summer writing or you just want to be part of a supportive writing community, please join us! We've been working hard to update and improve the software platform we use for our Faculty Success Program community and you'll get a chance to take a sneak peek at it during the Challenge. We hope that the community and support you receive during the 14-Day Writing Challenge will inspire you and reconnect you with what you love about your summer writing projects.
We believe that our rapid growth over the past five years is because we genuinely love serving you, we offer a unique form of mentoring, AND we're relentless about continuous improvement. We hope you'll connect with us during our month of celebration!
