A Note from Kerry Ann...

Once we reach this point in the semester, I take a deep breath and reflect on everything we've accomplished so far (even though we still have over a month to go). This month, I am feeling incredibly thankful to be able to offer the different types of support and accountability that our members need. We just wrapped up a successful Institutional Membership Drive and we are looking forward to providing so many new faculty, grad students and post-docs with the support, resources, and mentoring they're seeking.

Welcome to our new Institutional Members!

How are YOU feeling at this point in your semester, quarter, or sabbatical? If you're feeling fully-supported, extremely productive, and have found work-life balance, that's great! And if you're struggling, lacking support in certain areas, or you haven't gotten as much done this term as you wanted, our resources this month were designed for you!

First and foremost, registration for the Spring session of the
Faculty Success Program (January – April, 2016) is open, and we're kicking it off with our "5 Secrets to a Super-Productive Semester" Preview Webinar this week. Listen in if you want to learn why our bootcamp has been so successful in helping faculty members at every career stage become more productive.

Because this is the time of year when stress can start escalating, I'll be giving our core curriculum webinar this month, "Strategies for Dealing with Stress, Rejection, and the Haters in Your Midst." And we’re continuing our How to Be An Effective Public Intellectual series this month with Dr. Allyson Hobbs (Stanford University).

Finally, the single most effective way to boost your productivity is by starting a daily writing habit. If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with daily writing in a supportive community, be sure to read our feature article this month and consider registering for our upcoming 14 Day Writing Challenge! We had 1,447 academic writers in our summer challenge and we hope to this one will be even bigger (register below).

We're thankful for the community that we've built here at NCFDD, and hope that our resources this month will help you find that added layer of support or accountability that you need.

Warmly,

Kerry Ann Rockquemore, PhD
President and CEO
National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity
