A Note from Kerry Ann

As we close out 2016, I am so excited to share with you the growth that we've experienced here at NCFDD over the last year.

In 2016, we:

  • Served more than 92,000 members, including graduate students, post-docs and faculty members
  • Graduated 830 Faculty Success Program participants and supported an additional 1,672 alumni in our rapidly-expanding FSP Community
  • Visited 39 campuses to facilitate workshops, deliver keynotes and connect with our members face-to-face
  • Delivered 11 core curriculum webinars, hosted 6 guest expert webinars and offered 6 multi-week courses
  • Launched a brand new "Post-Tenure Pathfinders" program
  • Expanded our Institutional Membership to 88 colleges and universities
  • Delivered electronic support and encouragement through 48 weeks of Monday Motivators, 12 monthly newsletters and 22 Dear Kerry Ann columns in Inside Higher Ed
  • Hosted 6,198 participants in our popular 14-Day Writing Challenges

Happy Holidays from the NCFDD Team!

We want to finish out the year with a few more great resources for you! First and foremost, we received numerous requests for a discussion of post-election stress and ways that under-represented faculty can cope with increasing classroom incivility. So we've invited your favorite guest expert on race in the classroom to facilitate our Post-Election Q&A Call: Strategies for Dealing with Emerging Classroom Dynamics. Bring your questions and concerns for Professor Chavella Pittman on Thursday, December 8 at 2pm ET (registration information is below). Our feature article (below) offers positive ways to move forward in the aftermath of the election.

This fall, we experienced unprecedented demand for our Faculty Bootcamp (we had 300 registrations in one week!). Even though the spring session is fully registered, we've opened a waiting list. Why? Because we always need to fill a few spots due to last minute fluctuations, so go ahead and add your name. And if you register on the waiting list but a spot doesn't open up, we'll give you priority registration for the summer session.

The NCFDD team is grateful for all of your support in 2016! It has been a wonderful year of growth and expansion, and we hope our resources have helped YOU in your personal and professional growth!

Warmly,

Kerry Ann Rockquemore, PhD
