   The NCFDD Team

I have to admit I’m feeling particularly energized heading into April!

The reason why is pretty simple: the NCFDD core team has just emerged from our annual retreat where we spent a week plotting and planning how we can serve you at an increasingly higher level. To be honest, we’ve gone though a major growth spurt (we’ve grown from 18,000 to 76,000 members in the past year) and like any organization, that growth has brought with it some growing pains. But this retreat was all about clarifying our mission (helping faculty thrive in the Academy), making some tough decisions (it’s time for us to cap registration for the Faculty Success Program in order to maintain a high-quality, high-touch experience), and starting to plan an amazing summer series of programming (we’re calling it the #summerofproductivity). And I can assure you, none of this would have happened without the extraordinary dedication of the NCFDD team members who are 100% dedicated to supporting your success.

Because we’re focused on productivity heading into the summer session, we’ve got some exciting opportunities for you! First and foremost, the registration for our summer bootcamp (the Faculty Success Program) has officially opened. Since we’re limiting the number of seats, don’t wait to register. Unlike previous sessions, registration will end once the spots are full (and we’re already 42% full).

We also have a great line-up of professional development training this month! I will be teaching our core curriculum webinar on Mastering Academic Time Management, and David Leonard, PhD (Washington State University) will be offering our guest expert webinar on How to Write Beyond the Academy: Translating Scholarly Writing for a Public Audience.

And finally, our feature article has one simple question: Are You Ready For A 14-Day Writing Challenge? That’s right, it’s time to join our two week, pop-up community for developing a daily writing habit. It’s a great way to experiment with best practices in a supportive community (see our feature article below).

I hope this month's resources will help you to amp up your productivity, get focused, and move towards the summer with a focus on your writing!
