NCFDD May Newsletter

Note from Kerry Ann

2015 Faculty Women of Color in the Academy Conference

This Spring has been a big growth spurt for us at the NCFDD! Our membership has swelled to over 77,000 graduate students, post-docs, and faculty members and we're kicking off our summer of productivity. I'm feeling incredibly energized by the momentum we're gaining on campuses across the U.S. The highlight of this term has been our evolving partnerships with the University of California System (we're now serving 9 of 10 campuses), the annual Faculty Women of Color in the Academy Conference, and the Infinite Possibilities Conference.

We're carrying that momentum into our summer so we've decided to dedicate this month's newsletter to a preview of all of the exciting programming we've set up for you during our #summerofproductivity. First and foremost, if you missed the registration for the Faculty Success Program (our 12-week virtual bootcamp) you can still sign up for our Waiting List. We always have a few last minute changes so there's still a chance you may get a spot.

By popular demand, we'll be offering an open training for everyone to jump-start their summer of productivity: Every Summer Needs A Plan. Because summer is the time of writing retreats, this month's guest expert webinar with Michelle Boyd focuses on How to Design an Effective Writing Retreat. We'll also be kicking off this summer's multi-week courses this month with Joshua Schimel's Writing Science (How to Write Papers That Get Cited and Grants That Get Funded). That will be followed by two more multi-week courses this summer: Teaching in No Time (July) and Everything You Need to Know About Grantwriting (August). If you're currently an NCFDD member, these courses are included in your annual membership. If you're not currently a member, the summer is a perfect time to join.

We are so excited about all of the webinars, multi-week courses, and surprises we have planned for you this summer! We hope you'll find exactly what you need to boost your productivity!
