Thriving In A New Academic Year

A Note from Kerry Ann...
The Fall term is in full swing here at the NCFDD: we're back on the road visiting campuses to deliver our on-campus workshops, we’ve started the Fall Session of our Faculty Success Program, and we’ve kicked off our brand new Dissertation Success Program with 150 graduate students from all around the country! This month, we're working towards expanding our membership with both an Individual Membership Drive and our annual Institutional Membership Drive (see below for details).

Members of the NCFDD Team

We’re also celebrating the fact that others are recognizing our rapid growth! Last month we were featured in Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 list! NCFDD is ranked the 7th fastest-growing education company in the U.S. and the 2nd fastest-growing company in Detroit. We're excited to be recognized for our dedication and commitment to faculty members, graduate students and post-docs and demonstrating what an organization run by faculty members, for faculty members, can deliver.

This month, we’ve got lots of helpful resources coming your way! Our core curriculum webinar will tackle one of the most common challenges academic writers face: Overcoming Academic Perfectionism. We're also gearing up for a brand new multi-week course beginning next month, How to Balance Parenting & Productivity: A Realistic Approach for Faculty With Young Children. And our newest guest expert series -- How to Be an Effective Public Intellectual -- kicks off next week with Mark Anthony Neal (this session is open to non-members!). And finally, this month’s feature article is for readers who are trying to figure out how to survive their tenure decision year! We hope that this month's resources will help you to get clear, committed and motivated into action on the things that truly matter!

Warmly,

Kerry Ann Rockquemore, PhD
